Now that I don't have the chance to support the department, I wanted to have information on the cost of licensing.

because depending on what you buy you will be enabled some functions or not, for example on the d&d you can't generate sheet metal parts, you can't use the most complex modeling commands (lophies, helicoids, etc.), and various other limitations.
with the foundation I believe that you do not have the fem solutor and (maybe) the standard parts.
However, if you turn to a seller, all doubts will be solved.

What do you need the cad for? design, calculation, design? for certain applications you may also consider spaceclaim that costs from 1000€ to 3000€ + VAT (eye, I am a dealer, do not approach too much that I bite ). if you were student (or PhD) the full version for 1 year would be free :wink:

but if you print in 1:1 on a4 you have verified that the print settings are correct. there is an option to print in 1:1 otherwise you will scale the page automatically on the printer margins. Check that first.

I am not very practical with solidedge, the use I used in the company where I worked before was very limited. I can't "be behind you" when you talk about synchronous environment; Surely there is that now I will have to draw fairly complex structures (not as geometries, but as number of pieces) composed almost exclusively by disjoined sheets. I am currently drawing with autocad, I have been able to see to my owner the potential of if v20 and he is enthusiastic about it. I read (also here) that if st had some youth problem, I doubt it is possible to get the previous versions but I'm also curious to "put the face" on the latest version of this program.
Is there anyone who can tell me about the main improvements in sheet metal environment, compared to version 20?

the improvements compared to the v20 there are, the st did not have a good impact dictated by the fact of the change of interface style office 2007, but still after a little hand you make habit. As for implementations there is an improved fem module, now called simulation which now includes the assemblies (it is paid and not on the classic license). they have introduced the synchronous plates as said by gerod that allows to do very particular things even if from mechanical designer I limit myself to doing things less complicated possible, but you can unbalance.
I can safely say that if you first had to ingegnate to create certain sheets now you can manipulate as you want the model.. .
However if you are willing to take licenses, contact the local dealer and make ad hoc demos.
I suggest you watch on youtube the videos that are there so you get an idea.
