You're right, with today's evidence it works.
if there are no solids and faces, shape is disabled (justly) and from the finder appears the message "disabled in the state of the current product", while after the creation of solids and shaped sketches is enabled (the other day I will have eaten of the goose, mah!) and the message disappears.
