the fact that doing it all together brings problems, then those who made the drawings used surfaces and not solids (at least so it appears in the igs file) so to make the simulations with solidworks is not likely!! !

maybe late but try to change the export options of iges files, as in the figure (section "export") and generate the iges file from the axieme.
then when you have the iges file activates the option (section "import") maps iges 308/408.

still remains the possibility that some models enter corrupted for when post-process error of the iges file.
