management changes vault-inventor

Having set up a new method of working in the company after my arrival I am now having to handle some changes.

I try to summarize: I have some 3d models and relative dwg that I have to change. the same will then take a new code with the main editing exponent.
I have to keep the old models and drawings in store.

I thought I'd archive the drawings by adding a comment to identify them as an old version, then rename them and go make changes.
the problem is that, being the dwg tied to model 3d, if I reopen the old table this is updated to the changes made on the model.

I would therefore need a suggestion to handle this well.
Any suggestions?

From the title you seem to have the vault. open vault, select table > copy project file; copy both the table and the part with a new name and these two will be connected together as the first two will be connected together

to help you could use on the rev entry of properties so when you make a solid model put the rev and on the corresponding table the same rev.
