Good morning to all,
in the company, once every project is finished (60 parts or more) the need to divide the relevant drawings or processing files to the workshops. I make an example: some parts make dxf and they send to punch, some make the step for the cut, others do the table dwg and send to the pantograph. So, according to the discriminants that are already in the file properties, we know what to do.
At this point, the production manager comes and tells me: Can you give me all 2 mm files in aisi 304 to punch? Do you print all the drawings of the project? Can you give me all 3 mm punching files in s235?
Currently we have the bom exported to excell, from we filter them, we see the names of the parts and then we look for them in the hand pdm. and often, especially in the press, we do this several times because prints in the workshop remain clean and visible for a short time ^_^ .
Is there a faster and more reliable method?

Thank you.

hi, I solved by putting the files that serve directly in the management, when you make an order you need and when you open the parts in the management there is the link for the dxf step igs pdf what it takes to manufacture. we now use nav as a management.

What do you mean by hand research? Go folder by folder?

solved having given to the production manager, a pdm viewer license, so you search and print what you want when you want.

not everyone trusts, first we did so, but they printed unapproved or even different files, to keep everything under control they only have the links of the files they need and especially the parts they need for a product. I spend 2 minutes inserting files into the management but I'm sure they can open only those I say. a lot depends on when big it is production if you have 5 different jobs and hard to keep everyone under control I prefer to limit them and give them less obesity to make mistakes.

all depends also on the permissions and how the files are structured.
Unapproved files can only see the technical office.
all other tasks can only see the approved files and/or those we pick up as viewable by everyone.

it was so for us, but if I have a part that I'm changing but still in production the design being a new revision I don't approve, but in production it serves the worthy of the previous revision. Then the production manager has all the permissions because it's among the accounts that can approve the designs, so you have to see the unapproved designs. . .
How are you doing? I didn't find a solution I went to the management.

only theut has access to everything.
all other tasks, are only viewers, approved files.

on the management of the revisions, I can't put bill. every company has its own.

By placing your example, from us in production, there cannot be a piece with two revisions.
otherwise the revision would make no sense, so that "new" would take a new code.
