this is to announce the certification of nx10.0.3 on windows 10 professional and enterprise. the certification process consists of testing the installation and operation of nx on several windows 10 systems by running the full nx qa suite of tests to verify operation and detect any anomalies. several minor issues were detected and documented in the following section. it is the position of siemens plm software that these minor issues will not affect the use and performance of nx on windows 10
and that this new os is fully certified and supported for customer use.

known issues:
1. license server installation. the installation of the license server fails on windows 10 if java 8 u60 is used, which was the latest java version available from oracle. the install requires java 8 u45 or java 8 u51 to operate correctly which can be downloaded from the archives on the oracle download site. we are investigating newer java releases and working with flexera for an updated install that does not exhibit this problem.

2. the windows 10 system theme does not display the siemens name in the nx title bar. the solution is to not use the system theme. nx development is investigating.

3. minor nx start-up performance degradation and resource consumption. it appears there is slightly more overhead associated with windows 10 that affects the initial load of nx. in addition, additional memory is consumed by nx when compared to windows 7. however, operational performance does not appear to be affected and in some cases is faster on windows 10 when compared to windows 7. (e.g. assembly save operation)

per our standard support policy, once an os is certified it will remain certified and supported for new releases of nx until an end of life statement is released. this means that nx11 will be supported on windows 10 when released.
