problem block autocad lt 2006 with the command open

Hello everyone,
I am an icy user of the old version autocad lt 2006 (original) with the now antiquated win xp.
for the use I make go even more than well.
from a few days I get an anomaly at the opening of files...
by clicking the "open" icon or by typing on the command line "_open" (which is the same thing), the program is planted and I am forced to force its closure.
However, I can open the files regularly by clicking them from the folder exploration.
the same anomaly (autocad in block) with the command "Save by name".
for all rest autocad works regularly and also pc

I tried to solve in various ways:

1) I reinstalled autocad
2) I did restore to a previous system configuration, to a date before the problem
3) I installed autocad lt 2002 that has presented the same problem.

no solution to the problem

I'm desperate. .

Good morning to all,
I am also in the same situation of teklast...I have autocad2005 in English mounted on a machine workstation of precision t3400.
returned from the summer holidays when I click on the icon open the program but I can open the files by clicking from the display of the folders.
I also have autocad 2010 in Italian but presents the same problem.
until 3 weeks ago (before turning off the pc for the holidays) everything worked very well.
What can one help me? .

I'm reading this treadh that speaks of the same problem, that there has been an update of windows (what version do you have?) that creates conflict with the dialog boxes of autocad.
if in three you have the same problem in the same period and with the same modes; As it seems to me that windows usually make full-bodied updates in half a month, these clues lead me to the above hypothesis.

two pcs with the same problem one with autocad 2009 and the other with the 2010 original versions.

in the afternoon check updates and drivers.

ps with the trial version of autocad 2017 works without problems

I confirm that with filedia set on 0 the command line appears where to type the file name!!, this way the program does not freeze and works regularly.
for completeness I have a precision t3400 workstation with xp professional operating system at 32bit.
I agree with massivonweizen regarding the updates of bulky windows that have created a conflict with the dialog boxes of autocad; even if using draftsight and solidworks the problem does not arise.

with filedia=0 autocad works and loads files but obviously it is impossible to use it without dialog.
I have already written that the problem has arrived from today to tomorrow and as indicated in the first post I still have the old win xp so we can exclude any kind of update to the operating system

before disabling dropbox I wanted to make an attempt on my acad lt 2006.
I entered the "options" menu and on "open and save" I made a change. so, little more than random, but that much because autocad corrected the settings.
had it, even without deactivating dropbox autocad it resigned to place. turned off and turned on the pc and autocad works properly

What exactly do you mean?
that you have corrected the right change by chance (in such case that settings you have put) or that just make any change (e.g. the rescue version) and confirm it?

Look, inside the menu I highlighted with the red arrow, I have 2 flagged boxes and nothing else. I simply removed the 2 flags and then "ok" 2 times to get out of the menu. from there autocad no longer had problems. I then came back in the menu and I redeveloped the 2 boxes bringing the settings to the original level and autocad did not present the problem.
I assume that in that manoeuvre, autocad has solved the settings by correcting the error or conflict.
otherwise I would have no other explanation to give.. .
