good morning to all users of the forum and more precisely the attendants of the solid edge.

I am as I said some time back in my messages a novello of this sw but I want and quickly grab the instructions given when I don't understand something.
I have tutoriald all the program on youtube, on this forum (which is a manna from the sky for me...!!!) and up and then down, but what I ask you today is a question to which I did not find an answer using the search button first and not even around I put it here.


work currently on a set that was created 4 years ago.

is located inside a folder that was given to me by a supplier... the folder of course has as many inside and inside the various are all the files that make up the asm.

inside this asm working it I created new parts that I saved in my own folder and so far all right.... .

I am now going to want to save all parts in a new location to allow me to have them all available, thus eliminating the old folder from where they came from. . .

I come from an environment (the music) that has nothing to do with the logic of these types of programs and I understand it alone, but I just can't figure out how to do a sort of save everything by name and give it another location.

I would not want to take and make a copy and paste of every single file:frown:

I also tried now to make a rescue by name but there's a type error that the asm is interrupted....usa revision manager... and I don't understand where to find this revision manager.. .
Do you have solutions?

You have to use revision manager.

from explore windows resources, right-click the main file and select the item "Open with revision manager".

below do:
- expand everything
- select everything
- set operation to copy
- set path
- execute operations

if you want to maintain the structure of the current folders you must use the "find \ replace" function to edit the destination paths. for example find "c:\documenti\cartella asm original\" and replace with "c:\documenti\cartella asm destination\".

if you have doubts read the revision manager guide and if they persist, ask here.

but then it doesn't give me the possibility to press the button or the option set path... .

I also thank you that I was looking for this function, but in this way it works for subaxieme assemblies and parts, but for .dfts and .cfg that were produced as I move them (or copy them) in the new folder without losing links with solid files?

Hi.

.cfg are automatically managed and moved\renamed\copied together with asm.

As for the related documents (dft in primis) you must use the "where used" function to go before searching.

with st9 are also indexed (if enabled fast search) for faster selection.

After using "copy operation tax" with "find and replace" go to change the destination path so as to maintain the structure.

I open my set with rm then "expand everything" and "select everything"... then imposed "copy operation" and here I lose myself, in the sense that I don't know if I have to "set the path" and give "run actions" or if instead do "find and replace". ...consider that this command I can't even find (I'm doing a test with st 1). Is it called another way?

after using "copy operation" you will see that the destination path will be equal to that of departure.
with the "replace" command, go to change the destination path by replacing the portions that vary.

example:

Original path = c:\documents\draws\project 1\...

destination location = f:\ archive\signs\project 1\...

you will need to use substitution of "c:\documents" with "f:\ archive"
