tool orientation in working

Good morning to all, I work as technical help on board machine (a 5-axis working center) at a shipyard.
and from a couple of months I've been learning to use powermill: the results for now are satisfactory, except for one thing: having the ability to rotate the tool in multiple directions (according to the reference axes), I was trying to create a path where the tool has a 45° angle compared to the x axis, as in the following image
utensileRuotato.webpin fact, however, the output file (inform immediately of having inserted the correct post-processor and its .mtd file of the machine) does not present the rotation of the tool, unless In the preferences of programmes nc there is no work plan, relating to the machine with which to compare it with that of the path (so I think I understand)

My question arises from the fact that a colleague does not use to put this work plan in the nc preferences, yet his paths already go out with the desired orientation, obviously in the phase of creation of the path (and subsequent writing) we both use the same settings.

Could someone give me some extra information?

I also inform you that my colleague uses powermill 2013, while I use powermill 2020.

thank you very much for the courtesy

Hi, I don't have your sw, but a nose the 2013 installation was set with defaults that 2020 does not have.
the first thing I would do is to scroll the content of the configuration files and find the dedicated parameters. then you will have to understand something (even my sw has to bizzeffe, and many concern the 4th and 5th axis, but are hidden behind other parameters).or contact assistance, 'that with the plans rotated inside the m.u. it quickly gets mooolto to make hardware damage. . .
I don't push, good work.

Hello, I use pmill since 2002. you can do the toolpaths with the worktop you prefer, so also tilted, but the important thing is that you set up in the nc program the worktop positioned and aligned to the "zero piece". is the beauty of pmill 5 axes.

if you need I leave you my contact privately;)

a greeting
alessandro

First of all, thanks to all for the kind answers! It is rare now to find a community where there is still a desire to share their skills:)
@rinated you are right, powermill2020 presents more possible settings in the section "preferences nc"
@ale47p So you have to set up two work plans, right? one for the tool path and another for the cnc (I believe) what in the nc preferences is defined as "plan of work output"?

I would then ask you how to fix the work plan for the machine: I create a simple work plan with the axes oriented in the same way as the axes of the machine?

ps: if you leave me a private contact, I promise not to be intrusive :)

hi, if you're interested, I'm really in powermill, I know the versions from 2010 to today, there are various ways to do what you ask, in a very simple way.
contact me in private if you want.
hi and good work
