I try to say a mouthpiece, but maybe it works. do the sketch of the writing to the wind on a horizontal axis cylinder having as diameter the diameter of the ball. you put yourself on a floor and convert the sketch that you previously wrapped and then use this new sketch to wrap it on another cylinder, always with the same diameter but with vertical axle. make a new sketch in the plane and convert into entity this second sketch wrapped. use the last sketch created and project it on the ball. In this way "eye" you should approximate quite well. I don't have time for proof, but I think it should work.
