hi to all users of the forum,

This morning I woke up with this problem. (actually it's 15:24, it's a tremendous heat and it could be that my intellectual faculties are very slow!).

Let's talk about creo 2.0 (but with creo 3.0 is the same), until now I had all my files local, today I had the need to move everything on a nas to be able to share them with a new location.
from the browser folders I arrive at my "root network folder" and I can put it in favorites,
from the browser folders I can see the "root network folder" among favorites,
from the "select job directory" button of the multifunction bar I choose favorites but do not see "root network folder" nor do I see network resources to get to the same step by step directory.

suggestions?? ? ? ? ?

thanks in advance

bye

I don't know I create, but some programs have problems accessing a network folder directly.
try to use the command "connect network units", assigning him a letter as if it were a local disk, maybe it works.

Bye.

Mitticco!!!! Now it's all about understanding why I create a "road" does everything as it should, for another one you have to resort to the radio solution.

Thank you! ! !

But be careful to impose the same letter to all computers on the network, otherwise you might find yourself with some problem.

old problems come back....
I've been accusing myself to my original request for a new problem that has been daring me for 3 days.
I went to creo 3.0 m010, on a pc all ok, on the second there is no way to show him the starting directory (the one indicated in the field "from:" under the property of the link that starts parametric to understand us) that is in lan on network unit with the same letter assigned. Plus if I start on the second pc I can see the directories in lan but I don't see the network if I try to set the work directory!!! !

are already resorted to "extreme" uninstalled methods several times, clean logs etc.etc. if I reinstall the previous realm works as before!!!

ideas? suggestions? similar problems?
thanks in advance

Provisional solution.... after the umpteenth removal of the m010 I first installed the b000 then the m010 and everything works (for now!) as soon as I have time I will try to remove the old version and see what happens.

same solfa.... same reformed pc and passed to win10, same network unit as assigned (ok in explores resources appears), I create 6-0-1-0 does not see the network drive .... .
Now...I would like to avoid reinstalling an old version to hope that this new configuration will work! ! ! !

do this test please, the network address of the disk, instead of taking it from the "preferred" of creo, you take it from a management of windows resources (copy-paste of the address on creo), it works?

I had already taken from explored win resources
the "alternative" addresses only for clarity are:
\\ls-wxl6b1\share\xx\technic\cad\start
z:\technik\cad\start

the first I reach it and I can set it as a work directory and save it in favorites.
what I need with network unit "z", I create does not see it in any way so I can not even save it in favorites.

Thank you.

but do you not even see it if you paste it as text/address in the work directory selection creo screen?

I think it's a problem of nas access permits.
I would verify that the user has all the privileges as an administrator (or logging as administrator) and see if it works out.

I had already configured permissions as you suggested.
the pc has a single user with administrator permissions (and from win access is always ok on everything)
I create as administrator.
I have enabled them also on public networks and with low cryptography (I don't remember the saying) etc. but nothing. I create does not accept "z:" in any way.

for now I have made a local start/dir to make it work so much we are quite "stable" and I do not have to make changes at the level of config waiting to make the passage to win10 also of my pc and see what happens... .

open a ptc call, surely others have had the same problems and maybe have a quick solution.

deleting the option executed as administrator from the properties of the connection on the desktop and not running as administrator .... it all works!

now for scruple I checked my pc with still win7 and it works the opposite of as described now!!!
I'm also sure that at the first start I had done so, it didn't work and so I went to set up administrator permissions.... maybe I missed a reboot in the middle and something didn't work.
I hope it can serve others.
Thanks for the support!
