Good morning
I would like to insert an embossed writing on a curved surface, in the area indicated with the arrow in the image. I tried writing in the drafring environment the writing, saving it in dxf format and then importing it into my file in order to extrude it later. but the extrusion is made starting from a floor, so it has different thickness on the curved surface. I would like the extrusion to follow the profile of the surface in such a way as to have equal thickness. I use the version of catia 3d experience, so if there are other modules of the program to use, there is no problem.

well the dxf, then it amounts the writing in a sketch, at this point in generative shape design environment, you can project the sketch on the surface (not to mess you better extract the partial surface of the area where you want to project it)

the projection can do it:

or normal to the surface
or along a direction

the profile obtained lies on the surface and can be used in various ways.

If the projection does not suit you, you can use the features development, which offers extra possibilities, how to manage the source points of the axle system etc.

Bye-bye. I solved more or less so, following this tutorial.

But I have to look for if there is in 3d experience a special environment for writings, so as to speed everything.

the method works, but with a circular surface and a long writing shows its limits, better the features development (with catia v5 r21 and environments usually used.

in 3d experience (which I do not have) there will be perhaps appropriate and more powerful commands.. .

but I think it's an application apart
