in autocad you have to create its printer driver on the system designjet, then in options (by autocad) you can also hide system printers and use exclusively the created driver.

the configuration and the usual, I would say the default one. Plus you have to create sheet sizes (you have 5 customizations), remove white zones at start and end printing (useful option for end printing), rotate automatically etc.

on "services" (final box), you need to set smartspool (or a name like that) and the 16-bit compactness. :smile:

I agree with you. the 2012 version flies. It's faster than the previous ones and it's more productive. there are many small tricks that make it very quick to use.

the 2012 version is faster if you install it in a new pc. at equal pc new versions of autocad are increasingly slower

I wouldn't be so categorical. we have several examples in the computer world, which show that it is not always so (e.g. operating systems: 7 is faster than view at equal machine).
It is normal that from one version to another there are worsening or speed improvements. It's all relative.
in particular the 2012 version is nothing but an optimized 2011.
But I can tell you that the 2012 put on a laptop of 5 years ago turns better than 2010 (and 2011).
then there is also to say that the current versions better exploit the machines "current". the paired windows 7 + autocad 2012 is really a splinter on practically all machines that mount from the core duo to the i7.
then clearly everyone can have had different experiences and not agree with me. It must be clear that what I am saying now is the result of my personal experience and I do not want to generalize.

Unfortunately autocad is an exception to the rule.
actually using it under win 7 is slightly happier but only thanks to the best performance of the operating system
