cad freeware: does anyone recommend?

update:
after carefully sifting all the internet in search of free cads, risking also an infection from a wrong site, I tried (velociously and superficially) all the cad found.
mark it that 3 I could not try them:
narocad and cmsxpandy, perhaps, go into conflict with something I have on the pc.
cocreate modeling pe requires an activation registration on the manufacturer's website, but this is not possible.
of the remaining (many) mark the 4 I found personally more convincing:
- wincad
- zwcad (2006 version is free)
- felixcad
- draft it
for a final choice, of course, I have to try them a little better.
with this I do not want to say that all the others are really to be rejected, surely there are others that deserve, this is only my personal selection.
when I have tried them better, I will add my final choice.
Next!
:smile:

In the end, my choice falls on zwcad, except to collide with that limit of 800k for files, in case I opt for wincad.

for now is not a problem.
In the future, who knows? Maybe some other free cad will improve. :smile:

I just started seeing qcad. on the site says it is all paid (although the basic version costs 25€). However, it makes me download a "demo" version.

Does anyone know what this "demo" is? I didn't understand what the limitations are. . .

cercato io male...ma veramente male!

- there is no functional difference between the demo version and the professional version of qcad.
- the demo version terminates after 10 minutes.
- it can be restarted and used for 100 hours in tota

return to the problem limitations of zwcad.

using the 2006 version I collided with the saving byte limit that, probably, is only 80k and not 800k. :frown:

where can you read the limit for the 2010 version?
Who found and where did you find that it was 800k?
I don't see it written anywhere. Indeed, I tried to download it and install it and it would seem that after 30 days of full operation the functions saved and printed are completely disabled. :frown::frown:

:finger:prova draftsight:http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=20246&highlight=draftsight.

for what I have seen so far:
it has correctly opened all dwg that other sw tested in the past (intellicad, doublecad etc.) managed with errors (intendo quotas moved, incorrect fonts, modified layout, problems with images and xref);
it is a bit slower than autocad in the pan and zoom (although not at the levels of the various intellicad and doublecad that have made me immediately desist);
is very interesting both for the correct management of the autocad pen tables and for the fact that the commands are almost identical;
has the possibility of customization mouse gestures with insertion of the most used commands.

Hi.

I am also looking for a free cad2d worthy of this name. for now I found a very little:

for now the only decent, has been worn out. totally and completely free, light enough, opened me the dwg of a big set without problems, I managed to editate it and saved it in dxf. from what I saw also has a good number of functions.
I forgot, it works perfectly on win7 x64.:finger:

I installed it and downloaded it this afternoon, so it's all to try, but all the others I tried was discarding them after 2 min! :confused:

interesting, but... I think you can't use it for commercial purposes. . :wink:

Bye!
p-h
there is the paid version, and however, also the free one, can be used for commercial purposes using the concept "pay-per-results"... which of course I have no idea what it can be.

I downloaded it as well as I:finger:... is really a great program :cool:... I've got to cuff us a little bit, but I think yes, it's the best I've tried so far! :finger:

I also noticed this writing.. .

Because I've pulled opencascade out to ask for something:

when I use linux cae (I installed caelinux2009) I can't open the step files. It tells me that I need to install the opencascade libraries.
Can any of you help me?

Thank you very much
